David Cockerill (NMLS #1638657) joins Ameris Bank Mortgage, Virginia Beach branch, as a Mortgage Banker. In his role, David specializes in VA Military and first-time homebuyer financing programs. David’s passionate about helping active and retired military veterans as well as new home buyers in the Virginia Beach community and surrounding areas.

David distills the complexity of homebuying by first starting with eligibility requirements and rate options. As a first-time homebuyer, clients have multiple financing options. For the past 25 years, David is proud to call Virginia Beach home. He holds his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Virginia Wesleyan University, where he was a member of the Men’s Golf team. David has a special interest in the environment and marine life in the Chesapeake Bay and can often be found fishing or diving during his free time.
